Independent Legal Advice (ILA+) Program

The Independent Legal Advice (ILA+) Program is a pilot program with the mission of providing free legal advice and free legal information to survivors of sexual violence in South East New Brunswick. We also aim to offer emotional support to those who are considering reporting to the police or are currently going through the judicial process with their experience of sexual violence.

What does this program entail?

Whether you are considering your legal options, only wish to know some legal information, or need support while going through the legal process, we can help you at any step of the journey. Even if you just need to speak to someone to figure out if reporting to the police is the right decision for you, we can give you all the information you need to make an informed decision. Here are the services we can provide:

  • Free Legal Advice from a trauma-informed lawyer

  • Free Legal Information

  • Emotional Support + Accompaniment to the police or court
