COVER YOUR TRACKS

Hide your activities on the Internet

It is possible to monitor activities on the Internet.

If your assaillant has access to your computer, they can discover the sites you've visited,. You can do some things to hide your activities on the Internet. For example, you can use the computer at work, at a friend's house or at the library to do your research.

You can also cover your tracks. To hide your activities, you must clear the memory of your computer. The cache and history of your Internet browser contain a list of the most recently visited pages. The Jade Centre (formerly the South East Sexual Assault Centre) would like to acknowledge that the land on which we operate our services is the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) and Mi’kmaq peoples. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) and Mi’kmaq peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1725. The treaties did not deal with surrender of lands and resources but in fact recognized Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) titles and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.
